I am new to goggle docs and have a question. (I searched the archives but could not find the answer)

1. I want to keep in touch with parents. For each chapter, I create an assignment sheet that has a list of assignments and other pertinent information. I usually attach this as an e-mail and send it out to parents. I would like to have continue this with google docs. Can I create a distribution list in google docs for parents--even if they do not have gmail? (We have the education package)

your parents don't need gmail and you've got at least a couple of options:

1. Email as an attached .doc or .pdf
  • Click Share > Email as an attachment
  • Paste in your contact addresses
  • Choose the format (pasted into email body or attached as word or pdf)
  • Click send

2. Share as a published Web page
  • Click Share > Publish as web page...
  • Click Publish document (also check automatically re-publish when changes are made)
  • Copy the viewable URL
  • Email the URL to your parents
