I have been entrusted by my school to find the best Math apps for our new iPads for next year.

Please help me out.

1. List the name of the App

2. The function of the App (ie. basic arithmetic, solving equations, flash cards)

Thanks for your knowledge and help.

Thanks Tom, I'll check it out for sure. If you come across any other worth while apps let me know.

Hi Jamie - what age group?

Khan Academy has a website and an app (Algebra 1) that is GREAT!!

A website that allows students to work at their own pace and sends you (and parents) "report cards" is:

www.tenmarks.com

A list of others I have used in class (6th & 7th Grade)

DiaMath - basic algebra function

Math Tour - basic math with a little added Geography

Pizza Fraction - fractions with pizza - go figure! ;-)

Slice It - fractions

Factor Factory - factoring

Flashcards Pro - allows you to create sets of flashcards online for the students to use for review on their itouch or ipad

FlowMath - multiplication

Fraction Factory

Freddie Fraction

Math Knack Genius - basic math functions

Motion Math - fractions, decimals, percents

Pearl Diver - fractions

Picturing Fractions

Pop Math Basic - very basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

These are just some that my kids really enjoyed playing.

Check into Ten Marks though... it is a GREAT program and still FREE for teachers!!

Regards

~Candace

Thanks Candace for all your suggestions. The age group I teach is high school so 15-18 year olds. Practicing with fractions is a major concern of mine. Too often my students ask if they can use a decimal instead. However, sometimes the fraction is actually easier. Thanks again for you list.
