A friend and co-worker is in charge of a radio/online program called KidsCast, in association with the Missouri Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse. It's a 5-minute program, meant primarily for 4th-6th graders. She's running a couple of contests this year, and looking to increase participation, and I told her I'd post here to get some ideas from some of you. (Both of these are for Missouri schools, by the way. So if any of you are in Missouri, feel free to check them both out.)

One contest is a simple little one for teachers -- any teacher who posts a link to the KidsCast (www.kidscastradio.com) site on their classroom page is entered into a drawing for a new computer for their classroom.

The other contest is for students, asking them to write an essay about making healthy choices (exercise, avoiding drugs and alcohol, eating right, etc.). The winner of that contest gets a computer, too.

Do any of you have ideas for reaching more teachers and kids online at this time of year?
