Spanish 1/2

I am cross posting this to the math forum--not because the cold weather has finally gotten to me but because I originally got this idea from an math colleague.

As we finish the first semester of Spanish One I notice that there are 3-4 kids in both my classes who just don't get it. There are 2-3 in each class who have missed too many days and have no hope of catching-up. I have been tossing around the idea of creating a Spanish One class that begins at the start of Semester 2 for these kids. They would take the second half beginning in the fall at the start of semester 1. Is anyone doing this?
I realize that there are some other issues involved with creating this type class but, I would be interested to know if people are doing this.
