Are you looking for another class to collaborate with or are you wanting ideas/examples? My 6th graders are finishing up a collaboration with another class on Island of the Blue Dolphins. If you are interested, the site is bluedolphins.pbwiki.com

This is new to me too, but I have had some excellant guidance! My class has another site mthopeaddis.pbwiki.com that we use for Social Studies and other Language Arts activities. Another site (which the bluedolphins was modeled after) is waw2008.pbwiki.com.

We did our first video conference this year with The Pringle Project and the kids loved interacting with the class in New Jersey (we're in Kansas). Luckily our district had set up the "room" where the conference took place and offered great support--all we had to do was download software and provide webcam. After your students finish the book wouldn't it be fun to have a video discussion?

Yes, the video sounds like a wonderful idea and I am grateful for your posts. I think it's exciting to hear and share with teachers all over the country! I hope to spend more time now on the project.
