Yes, I do; I use skype and know how to use: I can search for people around the world, make an audio or video call, send text messages, files...etc. I can also use some extra skype applications like ''Pamela recoder'' to record my conversations.
The time zone in Morocco is GMT(+0).

Abedelouahed, do you use skype? Do you know how to use skype? What time zone are you in? I am from Australia, so our time zone is not so good to connect with the other side of the world. However, we are in the timezone gmt+10. There are many educators and classes wishing to connect. I am one of them. My classes use blogs, wikis, google applications, skype and elluminate to connect with others. What age are your students? Mine are 15 to 18 years of age.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment.

Well, L2 here refers to the second language, namely English as a second language (ESL) as in the case here in Morocco where English is the second foreign language at school. Moroccan classrooms aren't yet officially connected to other classrooms around the world. The use of ICT has just began, and the teachers of English are highly motivated to integrate all the available ICT materials into their teaching. I am highly interested in…

Moroccan classrooms aren't yet officially connected to other classrooms around the world. The use of ICT has just began, and the teachers of English are highly motivated to integrate all the available ICT materials into their teaching. I am highly interested in taking a long step forward in using ICT and connecting my students with classmates around the world to share English and culture in one global classroom.
I hope I can find a way or a person who already experienced this to help me experiment this idea.
All the best,
Abdelouahed, this is a very interesting discussion. What do you mean by L2?
As our world flattens and we are able to connect and communicate more with global classrooms of all cultures, how do you see this fitting in. My classes and I love to videoconference with other classes from many different countries. Students are keen to know each other and learn about each other and yet, because of the isolation of Australia, students are reluctant to learn languages other than English as they do not…

My classes and I love to videoconference with other classes from many different countries. Students are keen to know each other and learn about each other and yet, because of the isolation of Australia, students are reluctant to learn languages other than English as they do not see them as being relevant. I should add that I teach in small rural school that is isolated geographically and culturally.
