From this list I use google apps and docs and Datacation. Google docs is perfect for a netbook since they have minimal RAM. It also makes access to your documents so much easier. As long as you have internet you're always good. Datacation I've used for a few years now. It is a very comprehensive package and my real place for "one stop shopping" in the education field. NCLB - no problem, Student Graduation Tracking - no problem, and now we are getting rid of a program not listed here called…

NCLB - no problem, Student Graduation Tracking - no problem, and now we are getting rid of a program not listed here called "teacherease" because Datacation does that too (gradebook that is shared with teachers, admin, students, and parents)! It just takes the guesswork out of the work. In this day in age, "compiling the data" should be easy. That's what Datacation does. It's what we do with the data now is a more challenging endeavor. We use Power School. We had a lot of problems early on because we were a pilot school for the first version, but it has settled down a bit now. (now that we have reported all the bugs!). The grade book is pretty good, but not perfect. We can still not work out how to write comments on quarterly reports. Well, we can write the comments, but they dont print out.
