I teach Math 8 and I'm doing an inquiry on how providing increased options for at-home support will affect my students' competence and confidence in mathematics.
Some strategies I currently use are:
-having a class website with a blog and wiki attached
-uploading notes, assignments and providing links on the site for games and further support
-email correspondence with students seeking support
I want to kick it up a notch. Some ideas I am throwing around are:
-using a wireless tablo to record process with voicethread (although I have no idea how to do this yet)
-using Skype to set up some tutorial times in the evenings for students needing some extra support (but not too time consuming, maybe half hour a few times/week)
Does anyone have any other ideas as to how I can go about this? Thanks!!!
