I am interested to know how different classrooms use Twitter in the classroom. Specifically on the Elementary level, how are the twitter conversations managed? In what scenarios and contexts is Twitter used in the classroom?

Twitter can be used at the Elementary level as a log to keep family members informed what their child is doing in school. You can pull Twitter up on the board so the students can help you write the tweet. This will help the students with composing a message that will be seen by all. You can work on grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary.
Hi Tiffany, I do not have elementary school students and I have very little experience with Twitter. In my graduate level class, we had to create a Twitter account and follow our classmates. I think that would be a great place to start with the younger students. You can become one big group who shares ideas with each other. You can also monitor what the students are doing and get a grasp on how savvy they are with technology. They could be introduced to creating their home pages, uploading photos, using the internet responsibly, etc. Also a great way to connect the students to each other and form a support group for each other.
