We are beginnig the process of creating updated "Scope & Sequence" and pacing guide documents for our K-5 Reading & Language Arts curriculum. What we have is quite antiquated and we basically need to start from scratch. I'm wondering if anyone has any such document that they'd be willing to share. Also, I really think we need to have some kind of "Mission Statement" to help define some basic premises of what we believe to be effective literacy instruction.

Here's one very DETAILED example of what I'm looking for from Todd County, SD.

This is REALLY good stuff, but I would LOVE to see other examples. Any suggestions??

The National Reading Panel's 2000 report has been one of my go to resource to evaluate effective literacy instruction. Here's a link to a post from my blog with links to information from the report. http://beginningreadinghelp.blogspot.com/2010/01/phonemic-awareness...
Hi Michelle,

I have a 2 year old and very detailed curriculum guide from a relatively large district. Is this the type of stuff you talking about?
If it's in the area of Reading/LangArts, yes. :-)
We're trying to examine many different examples.

Thanks!
