The rating systems of amazon, iTunes, Youtube, etc. are extraordinarily helpful in finding high quality materials. However, I'm not encountering the equivalent in teaching and learning technology.

Generally, when I'm searching for something, whether it's a lesson plan for the historical context of To Kill a Mockingbird or a learning technology conference in the area or math teaching technology in general, I would like to find a short list of examples that have been deemed as high quality. I don't want to have to sift through dozens of un-qualified examples. However, I feel like I'm doing more sifting through chaff, then accessing gems which I can put to use.

Can you direct me to some resources, contacts / mentors, or give some guidance so that I can access what's considered by many to be the best (or better) stuff out there, in regards to learning and teaching technology?

-------

Also, I've just begun using delicious for tagging educational resource websites. I know that people can "share" their tags. Can anyone direct me to high quality delicious sites for educational resources?

Thanks for your help.

Come this fall I will be implementing PBL in my Junior Alg 2 class. I made an attempt last year but I fell short as the facilitator. I have been doing my research since then but am looking for some personal success stories and advice to make this year go off without a hitch. If you have experience with Problem-Based Learning please share.

I'm looking for other teachers who use CPM's Geometry Connections book or those who have some ideas for cooperative learning. The book is almost entirely based on cooperative learning, but we are having a difficult time keeping some of our students engaged. Anyone have suggestions as to what we could do to keep everyone involved, trying, and engaging each other?
I extend this opportunity to you, your colleagues, and graduate students to share research findings regarding technologies in the classroom, 21st century pedagogical approaches, 24/7 learning environments and communication skills that effectively engage digital natives.

Following the conference(s), SmartEd Services will be happy to make your research available via www.teachsmart.org and other social media networks.
Though we are a technology reseller, our mission is to create understanding, not simply to sell “stuff.” This conference offers teachers and administrators the opportunity to come together and explore these integrated technologies and methodologies.

Recognizing the fiscal constraints facing Ohio’s schools, and with the knowledge that training budgets have been cut, we have taken it upon ourselves to bring professional development to these educators. Conferences will be held in January and February at locations in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus and Toledo. They are offered at no charge to the attendees. Also, please know that we will not use this as a platform for sales.

Our goal is for attendees to walk away with a better understanding of their students’ needs and how proper technology integration addresses those needs through a range of disciplines and learning styles.

Presentation application forms can be downloaded at www.teachsmartconference.org. For more information, please call (800) 251- 4077 x397. This week's meeting, about discuss engaging students in online math courses, is hosted by Maria Andersen, or @busynessgirl on Twitter. Maria Andersen is a college math instructor at Muskegon Community College (in Michigan). She is also the CEO of Andersen Algebra Consulting LLC, an educational consulting business. Through the business, she does some contract work for textbook companies, educational software companies, and schedule speaking engagements. You probably have seen Maria's awesome site "Teaching College Math": http://teachingcollegemath.com/

If you want to receive more news about Math 2.0 interest group happenings and events, and talk about issues of mathematics and social media, we have just started a mailing list for it: http://groups.google.com/group/mathfuture/subscribe

Each host selects his or her online meeting venue for the evening. So far, we had "field trips" to Twitter and Elluminate, with Tapped In, WizIQ, Second Life and other interesting venues coming up soon, too. If you are interested in hosting a session, please let me know, or add yourself to the Event page: http://mathfuture.wikispaces.com/events Using ICT on final examstag:www.classroom20.com,2009-03-09:649749:Topic:3054252009-03-09T09:18:03.997ZJoanna Phillipshttps://www.classroom20.com/profile/Joanna
I particularly need:
video content (lectures or other) to embed directly into the wiki.

organizational comments ... I can not decide to put linear algebra as its own chapter, or
justpart of lines etc.

some of the pictures are hand drawn and may need to be implemented with computer technologies.
The jury is out on that one since I kind of like the hand drawn effect (comments are welcome).

Currently the page is protected so that my students don't put crazy things into it (they do on other parts of the wiki), but I can add you in as an editor to this text if you are interested.

The text is decidedly incomplete at this time, but I think it has potential.

thanks,
