Note my discussion forum "Approach teachers".
You're looking for the ugly part?? I can name one. When you get someone excited about technology and it fails because the network is not well supported or content is blocked. It is so frustrating. Our IT will not let Tech Integrators have control over the network (or minimal). I've been asking for on the job training and to be givin more administrative rights. That way, when I'm working with a teacher and we hit a brick wall, I can troubleshoot instantly.

Hello all! I work for a K-4 elementary school. I help train staff in technology and create curriculum that integrates technology and 21st century skills while teaching state stds. I am a big fan of web 2.0 applications, project-based learning, and collaboration. I love my job!

I am taking a doctorate statistics class, one of the requirements for this class is to create a simple survey and analyze it. Please take a minute to complete this short but important survey. Thank you so much for helping.

Please follow this link to take the survey. If for some reason the link does not take you to the URL, please cut and paste into your browser.

Hi, I am a PhD student and I am investigating how ICT becomes integrated in English Language Courses at institutions of higher learning. Towards this end, I work with teachers, administrators and ICT specialists to explore the possibilities of ICT integration, to discover what works and what remains a challenge...

Hello, I am 1/5 Integration specialist. The demand is greater to provide the direct instruction skills to my classes. So far, the focus with teachers is the use of the grading program and the LMS (Learning Management System).

My position is unique in that I mostly can meet with one group of teachers during the block of time that meets during that 1/5 time. It is a bit frustrating.

In addition, there is a demand for more direct tech instruction. Our district is stuck with this situation. I wish it were different.

I do see an overflow of tech skills as the students leave my room and bring these skills to their other classes.

On another note, I don't see a future for this kind of position because as digital natives continue to enter the education field, lesser focus on integration is needed. It happens by itself.

I like being in the classes that I teach. That is the cutting edge. I get to try the most cutting edge ideas, then try them differently the following semester. I'm not sure I could ever leave being a direct instructor. It is not clear where I could do the most good.

It looks like this board hasn't been active for awhile so maybe this will jump start it. I am a tech integration specialist for a private k-12 school. I service the elementary division. I LOVE my job. Most of he teachers are so happy to learn new skills and try new things and I get to be on the cutting edge of educational technology. Sure there are times when it's tedious - but overall very rewarding. We are introducing web 2.0 apps like blogging, podcasting, Voicethread, social bookmarking with pretty good success. Anyone else like to comment on the god bad or ugly part of your job/position
