This year, I'll begin a new position as the Educational Technology Specialist for an elementary school district. I'm a former technology coordinator for a large parochial school in the western suburbs of Chicago. I've also been a classroom teacher. I'm a wife and a mother of three wonderful teenagers.
Hi, Nadine. I will be happy to be your Classroom 2.0 friend. I don't think we've crossed paths, my children are older than yours (in their 20s) and I work in Palos Park District 118.
I have also worked with Meg Ormiston - a good friend in RL as well - and am just finishing a dissertation on educators' responses to Web 2.0 formats. I have done a lot of blogging, but this is my first venture into social networking, too.
Good we can meet and learn together. Nadine both you and Margaret live in the same town, I am also just a few miles away. But here we don't have to fight Chicago area traffic to meet and learn together!
Hi Nadine, yes I agree we are all life-long-learners. I´m from Europe (Germany) and the EU-commission started a new program LifeLongLearning for the next 7 years.
Greetings

Hello Nadine, thanks for your compliments! I like the idea to team up with up. Please consider to join me on group DigiSkills!
By the way, I´m from Bavaria - a nice landscape in the south of Germany: alps, Munich, a lot of lakes ...
ha ha! my husband teases me endlessly about Twitter: all the other web2.0 tools I use he finds intriguing (and he has adopted some himself in his teaching) but I have yet to persuade him that Twitter is anything but the spawn of the devil. still, I like it!!! I'm looking forward to seeing if my students want to use it this fall. so yes, try it by all means! I bet you'll like it too! :-) me twittering
Nadine, I visited your wikis and like the way you laid it out in detail for parents, teachers, and students. I was wondering if I could use some of your material to do the same thing for my community of learners. I would certainly cite you as author. Let me know how you feel about that level of sharing---I will certainly understand if you'd prefer not but it would save me tons of work and provide a great service to my kiddos. Thanks, N.
