About Me
I coordinate the Certificate of Teaching Mastery program at Teachers Without Borders, an international nonprofit organization that supports teacher leaders, worldwide, with professional development opportunities and tools that connect them with information and each other so that they may play a more vital role in their communities.

As a researcher and teacher educator, I am interested in adolescent literacy, and teacher education and development, with a specific focus on practitioner inquiry and communities of practice.

My future research plans are to build on the foundations of my PhD research to further explore the effectiveness and impact of computer supported learning environments and knowledge building in online communities both in teacher professional development and adolescent literacy. Given the focus of my doctoral research, I have a particular expertise and interest in activity theory and cognitive apprenticeship models.

Hey! Thanks for doing such a great job lately as a volunteer host! :)

We were averaging just about 100 sign-ups a week until about two or three weeks ago, when it seemed to pick up to about 150/week. I hope that means that the site is helping people, so they are telling others.

I dream of a world where people get as excited about learning as they do about football. This thought brings me back to several reading I have done over the past few years. sigh...
