I am a Distance Learning Development Specialist at U of Guelph. U o G offers almost 300 entirely online undergraduate and graduate courses. Most are also offered F2F as well at this traditional bricks and mortar university in Southern Ont. I also teach F2F and online undergraduate courses in Adult Education at Brock University and Industrial Relations in CE at Guelph. My academic background includes Business and Adult Education plus an M.S. degree in education with a major in Online Teaching & Learning (Cal State, East Bay)
Patrick, thanks for the friendship offer. It's always great to meet another educator who understands the power of online learning. We both are graduates of the Online Teaching and Learning Program at Cal-State East Bay!
I'd like to invite you to join the E-Learning and Online Teaching group. (Just click the groups tab, you'll find us.)
Pat, Datta and I (along with Kay Lehmann and Sara Turansky) are all working together in a new online graduate certificate program at UW-Stout ( http://www.uwstout.edu/soe/profdev/elearningcertificate.html )
I've been working on the program for several years! It's great to hear you're doing so well!
I am impressed with the number and breadth of U of G online offerings. I have been teaching chemistry online through our Kentucky Virtual University, and currently we are implementing an online associates degree using a modularized approach.
Hi Patrick -- I'd like to invite you to join a Classroom 2.0 group called Canadians Mashup. I'm trying to build a network of Canadian educators and bloggers. No discussions yet. I'm just starting out by trying to find where everyone lives and what they teach. If you're interested, please add me as a colleague as well.
If you add yourself to the map, please include a name or a photo of some sort. There seem to be a lot of unidentified people from unidentified places and the map is getting stuck on for some reason. The problem is that I can't tell from the members’ list which anonymous hits are real people and which were just false starts. The company does not differentiate members unless there is a picture or a name. Location only is not enough to help me know which entries are not real ones. THANKS!!!!
With your work as a Distance Learning Development Specialist, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.
