Hi Patty, congratulations on your award!

Enjoyed reading your Blog, and have another educational use for iPods. My students use songs to amplify a central theme/concept of their class projects and will often plug their iPod into my PC to play music through my computer's speakers during their class presentations.

Jonathan, may I have your permission to share this idea in an article I am writing for Scholastic.com?

    Hi Patty,

With your interest in Education Technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.

Thank you Patty, not exactly background music, rather it is intentional and deliberate.

The song is an integral part of each students memorial project and serves as a dedication song during the class presentation. The song must pay tribute to the ideals and values of the person or event being memorialized. The student must introduce their song and explain why it would be a good anthem or theme song for the person/event being memorialized.

Here is a link to a Gallery with pictures of many projects and be sure to note the song selection.....
