I will check... I do have some very creative students, but like all of us, spring is very busy... Do you have applications?
  • Chelsy Hooper

Thanks, I will pass this along to our high school!
  • Dave Arbogast

    Jack-
I forwarded the link to our middle and high school English department chairs, so some interest may come from there. It's a cool idea.

    Jack,

We passed along this info to our English, Media, and Comp. Sci. folks back at the beginning of January. We'll see what comes of it.

Best of luck with the endeavor!

I will forward this information to the teachers. I will get back to you and see if they their students to participate.
    Thanks for the invite!

Hi Jack, Here in Minnesota very few students take the SAT. The ACT is our dominant college entrance test. I checked with counselors today and to date only one student has signed up for the SAT. So I have to conclude there would be little motivation for our students to get involved. Good luck.
  • Bryan Yenor

Hey Jack, I don't have students take the SAT. Wisconsin uses the ACT. Hope you find some people.
  • Jeff O'Hara

Thanks, I will take a look at your contest and see if it is a fit for us to promote.

Hi, Jack. My students are pre-service teachers and teachers. I will pass this opportunity on to them for their students. Thank you for the invitation. Toy
  • Kirk Crawford

Hi, Jack. That sounds like a great oppertunity for my students. I will look into the subject more, and will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks again.
  • Karen Kolkka

Thank you! I've passed the information along to the person at our school who teaches SAT prep. It's a great idea and I look forward to seeing the results!

I'll share this with a group of teachers and students tomorrow! Looks super! Do I need to let you know if we participate, or can we just upload?
  • Marianne Hart

    Hi Jack,
I've sent out info for the contest to our HS English dept. Let you know if I have any response.
  • Brett Mohr

I will pass this on to my english dept. as well. Thanks for the heads up on this, looks like a great idea.
  • Ric Vix

Looks very interesting...I will forward it to my department and let the other honors/AP teachers know about it also. RVix

Vocabulary is my favorite! I don't know anyone write now, and I'm in a first grade placement, but next half of the semester I'll move up to a sixth grade language arts placement. If I have time before the March 16th deadline, I'll definitely use that in my classroom.
    Thank you so much!
  • kelle Shugrue

On visual vocab day, the students dress up to express the definition of his or her chosen word. So, an "unkempt" student might button his shirt askew, etc.
  • Diane K. Youtsey

    Hi Jack,
I am in a K-8 District, but will pass the word on to the high school district.
  • Laurie Strand

I've also send the info to some students I work with who are homeschooled - can they participate?
  • Jeff Branzburg

nope, you didn't message me a second time. i had heard about it somewhere else and passed it on to others.
  • Elisa

I passes the info on the high school and middle school people
  • Mabel H

Hey Jack, I'll check with my students. That sounds like a fun project! Mabel
  • Martha Paas

I'm at the elementary level, so I wouldn't have any students.
  • Tonya Swisshelm

We are not a middle school or high school. We are a K-6 grade building so I don't think we are eligible to participate. I will pass this on to our high school and middle school.
  • Jennifer McCaleb

    Hi Jack,
I'll check it out and get back to you.
    Jennifer
  • Lorraine

Hi, thanks for your note. My students are in the K-6 level so they are not preparing for the SAT quite yet.
  • James Gubbins

Actually, Jack, one school in my district is in the process of putting something like this together now. I'll get back to you when I find out more.
  • Colin Matheson

I am trying to push some teachers to try it out. I really like the project.
  • George F. Washington

    Good Morning Jack

I have passed this information on to my Instructional Department Chairperson to determine if he or any of the folks in that department want to pursue this with any of the children in the schools. Thanks for the information!!
  • Josh Block

I passed the information along to our English department and Academic Challenge team. Thanks for the info.
  • Tim Foster

Hi Jack, just forwarded the info to our education college. I'll let you know if anyone has any q's.

    Thanks...
  • Paci Hammond

    Hi Jack-
As an elementary school librarian, I don't have students who would qualify (I don't believe so, anyways). However, I will pass the information on to the librarian at my daughter's school, Berkeley High.

I will test the waters with some of my integrated study students.
    Looks like fun to me
  • Ann Hamel

    Jack,
Let me check on this and get back to you - sounds like fun.
  • Ojas Ray

Sounds like an awesome idea. However, being a middle school teacher i dont think many of my students would be interested in that... if you do something for middle school students please let me know
  • John Lustig

I don't, but if anything changes, I'll let you know.
  • Allison

    Hi Jack,
    I will check! :)
  • Jen Bradshaw

    Jack,

I think it's a great project, and one our high schools might be interested in. I'll try to get it going . . .

    Thanks!
  • Nancy Latimer

Oh, that looks like fun! But I don't know; if there is an interest, I will be sure to get back to you.
  • Rushton Hurley

Hey Jack, the chances of getting an objection are minimal. That said, it would be nice for you (perhaps in future competitions) to give a notable point bonus to those who properly credit their copyright-friendly sources. There is certainly loads of legal stuff out there one can work with. I'd like to connect with you on such ideas via e-mail at some point; feel free to contact me at rh(at)nextvista.org.

    Take care!
    Rushton
  • Katrina Johnston

I forwarded the URL to our English department.
  • Mike Hasley

    Hey,
Sorry, just found your note. Let me take a look at it and I'll let you know about the SAT contest.
  • Jim Brinling

Jack, I see I'm not the only one who checks their wall infrequently. I can think of a couple of people in our building to forward this to who explicitly teach in the language arts and computer apps area.

Sounds like a great and worthwhile project!!!
  • Brad

Thanks for the info. I passed it on to a couple of teachers.
  • Julie Drake

Hi Jack. I'm also seeing this a bit late to truly promote this contest --but I love the idea and will send it to some of the usual suspects I work with.

If you are open to partnering with this project in the 2009-2010 school year, please send me an email so we can explore the possibilities. Best, Julie
  • Alecia Berman-Dry

Hi Jack. Our students are in middle school and elementary school, so they're a bit young for that. I did pass it along to two colleagues who teach high school.
  • Deanna Cooper

I don't have students who could do this. I suggest you contact Thomas Cooper. He may be interested in this.
