Hi Jack, Here in Minnesota very few students take the SAT. The ACT is our dominant college entrance test. I checked with counselors today and to date only one student has signed up for the SAT. So I have to conclude there would be little motivation for our students to get involved. Good luck.
Hi, Jack. My students are pre-service teachers and teachers. I will pass this opportunity on to them for their students. Thank you for the invitation. Toy
Hi, Jack. That sounds like a great oppertunity for my students. I will look into the subject more, and will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks again.
Thank you! I've passed the information along to the person at our school who teaches SAT prep. It's a great idea and I look forward to seeing the results!
Vocabulary is my favorite! I don't know anyone write now, and I'm in a first grade placement, but next half of the semester I'll move up to a sixth grade language arts placement. If I have time before the March 16th deadline, I'll definitely use that in my classroom.
Thank you so much!
On visual vocab day, the students dress up to express the definition of his or her chosen word. So, an "unkempt" student might button his shirt askew, etc.
We are not a middle school or high school. We are a K-6 grade building so I don't think we are eligible to participate. I will pass this on to our high school and middle school.
I have passed this information on to my Instructional Department Chairperson to determine if he or any of the folks in that department want to pursue this with any of the children in the schools. Thanks for the information!!
Hi Jack-
As an elementary school librarian, I don't have students who would qualify (I don't believe so, anyways). However, I will pass the information on to the librarian at my daughter's school, Berkeley High.
Sounds like an awesome idea. However, being a middle school teacher i dont think many of my students would be interested in that... if you do something for middle school students please let me know
Hey Jack, the chances of getting an objection are minimal. That said, it would be nice for you (perhaps in future competitions) to give a notable point bonus to those who properly credit their copyright-friendly sources. There is certainly loads of legal stuff out there one can work with. I'd like to connect with you on such ideas via e-mail at some point; feel free to contact me at rh(at)nextvista.org.
Jack, I see I'm not the only one who checks their wall infrequently. I can think of a couple of people in our building to forward this to who explicitly teach in the language arts and computer apps area.
Hi Jack. I'm also seeing this a bit late to truly promote this contest --but I love the idea and will send it to some of the usual suspects I work with.
If you are open to partnering with this project in the 2009-2010 school year, please send me an email so we can explore the possibilities. Best, Julie
Hi Jack. Our students are in middle school and elementary school, so they're a bit young for that. I did pass it along to two colleagues who teach high school.

I forwarded the link to our middle and high school English department chairs, so some interest may come from there. It's a cool idea.
