Kelley,
Thanks for bringing my attention to the age of some new members and your concern for their safety. I have sent a note to Steve Hargadon (the network creator).
I think you are right to be concerned, they all had their full names posted and their pages tell where they are from. I know this is a pretty safe crowd, but you never know.
Steve or I will let you know what he decides to do about it.

Thanks for bringing this to Liz's attention, since she sent me an email about it. I logged on tonight after being with family all day, and I immediately deleted all the profiles. Don't know the full story yet, but felt it was better to be safe than sorry.
I drug you into to an argument I'm having with Mrs. Bluebird You aren't actually in the main argument about differentiation but in a side argument about communication with parents. I liked what you had to say about using the wiki to inform parents. I'm a year or so from retirement I really have little tolerance for teachers' whining--hence the "discussion" on differentiation with Mrs. Bluebird. If one thing doesn't work try something else, for Pete's sake. Later N
Just checked out your pbwiki - I LOVE it! I'll be looking around more to see what I can do with the tool. I have an account, but haven't worked with it much yet.
Are you located in Michigan? I'm assuming that since you posted about MACUL you are planning on attending MACUL?
I'm thinking about the idea of running an unconference the day before MACUL, in Grand Rapids, on using Web 2.0 to promote teaching and learning. Though we'd look at what participants wanted to learn the general theme would be how Web 2.0 can help content teachers promote the highest quality learning. We'd look at specific examples.
Do you think that people would be interested in this?
I never did d/l Squeak, should I? I have a few girls working on Alice and have introduced Scratch. My problem it "too much stuff" I see about 60 kids a week, but they only come way day a week. We have a rigorous curriculum (this semester)http://connections.smsd.org/titanic, usually are reading a novel, 6th graders are doing a Philosophy Unit and on and on....so that doesn't leave a lot of time for all the Web 2.0 tools and simulation software the kids want to explore. All of a sudden there seems to be so many cool things out there.
Like Andrew I am assuming you are from Michigan with the MACUL post. Unfortunately I can't make it this year. I was wondering if you knew of any other big conferences in Michigan I could network with others in the edtech field around Michigan
Thanks for the link to the animation course. I wish my district would make an effort to have online courses for gifted. They continue to site in the classroom bored to tears.
Sure! Here's the link: http://mrsruiz.glogster.com/test/
I then used each of the images and linked them to a page in my wikispace that I had created with the same title. Once the kids clicked the picture it took them right to the page where they could edit and add their own information! They loved it!
Great idea on award/recognition showcasing! Might I suggest you start a forum thread on it, and people can add to it? If you don't want to, I'm glad to do it, but I think you should get the credit for a great idea... :)
With your work in Ed Technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.
Hi Kelley. I was wondering if you and your students would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. If not, perhaps you have some educator contacts you could direct me to. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
