I am currently a fifth grade teacher and love incorporating technology into the classroom as often as I can and in a variety of forms. If anyone wants to connect classrooms for various subjects please let me know.
Hey Jen, great to see you on here, I've been on here almost 2 years dating back to when I was at Lions. I use your web page as an example when I teach iWeb, hope you don't mind, I think it's great. Lets keep in touch and bounce ideas off each other every now and then, and bug Peggy for me, I hope to be back in D57 soon to say hi to everyone!!!
I'll leave this for Jen too, but Ustream might be the way for you guys to go on any type of collaboration. You can stream video live so she can see you or Vice Versa, and you can even create a chat room along w/ it to see the video and chat at the same time.

Also, if you have iChat then you can do it automatically. Plus, Text Flow is a great way to collaborate on Text Documents, it is called Parrallel Word Processing.

Good luck, and can't wait to see how you too continue to bridge the gap between technology and education.
That's sounds great, have a nice Thanksgiving too. I'll stay tuned to your progress. I remember when you first started at FV and I told Peggy and Bob Furst how lucky FV was to have you. You really stood out to me in some of those trainings I did or helped w/ and once I saw your iWeb page last year, and Peggy told me you had very good tech skills, I knew you would be a "special" teacher. Check out Jennifer Dorman, who's an ex-teacher in Philly, is our age, former teacher of the year, and now cutting edge in technology. She's a colleague of mine on here, so you do search for her name right on here, or click her for her Diigo site, http://www.diigo.com/profile/cliotech Diigo is something you might want to try w/ your kids too.
Ha! Your page is exactly like mine! Yes..always looking for more classes to Skype. I'm addicted and my kids love it. We've 'visited' Thailand and Australia. We plan to Skype our fellow colleague, Melissa's class, after testing in a few weeks. I'd love to connect. Just let me know:-)
I think it went great! That's the longest call we've had. It's so funny that every class we have connected with comments on our accents! I guess we do sound really country! I've posted the video on our blog. My kids always like to go to re-watch it from home. http://asmalltownteacher.blogspot.com/ Thanks again for all the work and we'll stay in touch for other opportunities!
Melissa
What Math program do you use? I'm interested in the math collaboration project using VoiceThread. Let me know if we can set something up.
