My experience with Alternative kids taught me that every kids wants to succeed, some just don't know how.
After Alt Ed I worked for Akron Central Schools in Akron NY. Throughout my tenure in Akron I was a resource room teacher, inclusion teacher, and both a middle and high school math teacher. I lived both sides of the coin (sometimes within the same day).
I moved to Gowanda NY seven years ago and currently teach at the HS.
I hold certifications in Math 7-12, Special Ed K-12, and have an SDA
I'm interested in new technology. My classroom has a Smartboard and Senteo clickers that I use daily. I follow many blogs (too many) and subscribe to podcasts - favorites are Rachel Maddow, Smartboard, and NPR.
With your interest in New Technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.
Glad you found me here - gotta love Rachel Maddow and NPR! - I look forward to chatting with you. We'll have to compare our blog lists - I'm always looking for more good ones - do you use bloglines or some other aggregator?
