About Me
Hey everyone, my name is Barbara Powell. I teach computer and creative writing classes, and I am the Technology Integrator for middle school at a private school in Nashville, TN. I also direct our middle school literary magazine and teach students layout and design. Teaching is somewhat new to me. I have worked in advertising, at an art museum, and at a film school.

I am always seeking new ideas for ways to use and explore technology in the classroom. I currently use blogs, video chat, webquests, Quia games, and just about every iLife program (we are an all Mac school). I am looking forward to being a part of this network :-)

The ppt looks great! I am going to share the WebQuest and ppt with my class in the morning. Thanks for sharing!

I shared the WebQuest and the ppt and the students really liked it. They had fun with my intro as I told them, "here is an example from a 'real live teacher' using this in a 'real classroom' with 'real live students'!" I think that they need real world examples as I know it can seem that we "technology nuts" are giving them a lot of options and they can not make the connection with a classroom that they haven't taught in yet.

I will tell them about making the comments...thanks again and please feel free to send classroom examples. We are doing digital images, digital stories, and Inspiration (image maps) the next few weeks.

Thanks Barbara for the feedback. I have been currently busy with my other blog: http://call4teacher.blogspot.com and designing a website for my SAT prep class ( will let you know when it is done). I have created a meeting place on ning for my school teachers and admin and this is taking a lto of time to maintain, apart from my MA studies.
I would like to thank you for the links you shared in your comment. I liked the lexipedia the most and I think it has some implication in my SAT prep class. Thanks:)
