I'm a 34-year veteran of the education trenches and I have to start by saying that education has been very good to me. I was first a middle school classroom teacher, teaching language arts and social studies, then about mid-career I took the opportunity to apply for a new position - Technology Coordinator (essentially a tech. educator with some admin. responsibilities thrown in.)
Currently, I'm leading the charge into Sakai for my building, and it's tremendously exciting. I can see all kinds of potential, and it's really great to work with teachers who "get" it too.
In my spare time I like to read, hike, snowshoe, watch rugby & basketball, referee soccer, and pretend I know what I'm doing in the garden. I'm married to a saint who I met in college and then reconnected with 35 years later! I have two wonderful sons - both grown men - one in the army and about to deploy to Afghanistan in March, and the other a research analyst with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. And then there's Cleo, the spoiledest cat on the planet who's convinced that sleeping and walking to her food bowl is all a cat really oughta have to do.
