Mr. Hill, I've just noticed your from Anguilla, where my mother's father was born, he came to Dominican Republic in the 30's. His last name was Hughes. It's really nice to find someone from that island in the Caribbean.

Hi LeRoy, thanks for responding to my comment. I've never been to Anguilla so far. My grandfather's last name was HUGHES. Do you know anybody with this last name. It would like to have some news about my origins.

The only information I have is that my mother’s father Cedric Hughes came from Anguilla when he was 19 years old. He was born, according to my grand parents’ marriage certificate, on March 19, 1917. My grand father came along with his parents: his mother was Matilde Anna Brooks and his father Luis Hughes. My mother was named after her grand mother.

It’ll be nice hearing from someone having any reference about this story.
