Thanks for the comment! I am very jealous of you teaching in the pacific!!! I'm working on my PhD, with the goal of one day working at a smallish teaching college. I want to get back to my hippie days!! Anyway, I always tell teachers to teach to your strengths and your weaknesses will follow, so I think you have the right idea.
