I work in a small k-8 school. I'm primarily the "computer teacher" though I also provide support for 100+ Apple laptops and desktop machines.
I've been providing technology support for students and teachers for about half of my 30+ years of teaching.

    Hello Bob,

    I am a graduate student at California State University Fresno. I am looking for anyone who might know of a middle school or schools who would like to participate in my master's research project. I am trying to determine how much time middle school students (6th-8th graders) spend on line using social networking sites and on-line collaborative web sites to discuss academic content. I am looking for 1:1 laptop students and also students who do not use laptops in their classrooms. I need the following: school name, contact name and e-mail address. Thanks!

    Hi, Bob:
    I have been teaching for 13 years, but this is my first year in the computer lab. We have MACs that also run Windows. Just about all of our programs run on the MAC side except we have MS Office for Windows only. We are considering purchasing MS Office for the MAC but don't know if we should make the change to a totally MAC lab. We have had lots of issues trying to run both platforms. What do you think?

    The issue we have is funding. I have to make a good case to purchase licensing for MSOffice for the MAC when we already have it for Windows. Thanks.
