I am semiretired aerospace worker working on my next career. I volunteer at our church working with 12-18 year olds and find that despite the headlines todays youth (our future) are more aware of themselves, their environment. I am a beleiver in life long learning. Just recently completed two courses in an Introduction to Biotechnlogy and was blown away at the available educational video and web resources available.
I hear all the time that there is a growing shortage of scientists and engineers in the U.S. With the new emerging technologies of biotech and nanotechnology emerging as the next industrial, social and cultural revolution, I am hoping that Classroom 2.0 will provide a resource for me to encourage and assist the development of our next leaders in these areas.
Your "next career" sounds vastly important. You're helping everyone along with lifelong learning, and modeling it powerfully yourself.
Biotech, nanotech? Fascinating!
