Brewster Kahle discusses the collaborative effort of a number of libraries around the world to scan in all published material and make it available on the web to everyone for free. Kahle is founder and director of the Internet Archive, a free service which steadfastly archives World Wide Web documents.
Hi Martha, you have a good conservation going here about "willingness to share", the problems with it and the values of it. How about starting a discussion thread in the Muscle Shoals group. You could focus the discussion on "How can we use participatory media to share with others? Problems and Advantages?". I would really be interested in how librarians could use this media to help students and teachers to do research. Any thoughts?
