I have been teaching for over 25 years. I want to become a 2.0 teacher and have a paperless environment. (my dream) I am currently working on an online course called 23 things. I am learning how to blog, wiki, tag in other words I am learning about the flat world.
Welcome Laurie! If you ever get all the way paperless, help the rest of us! Have a great time in Classroom 2.0 and let us know how we might help you find what you need. ~Jane
Laurie you asked me about ideas for kids blogging for language development. I think one of the great aspects of blogs is the "comments" function. I'd make sure I wasn't the only person reading/responding to their posts. Along with other adults, kids could be great reader/advisers for each other. Good luck with your project-- it sounds like you have a million (OK at least 23) good ideas.
Think about ePals for hooking up with other ELL or spanish learning classes. They do a nice job creating a closed network for partner classrooms. OH, and if you need a book to guide your professional learning, consider mine: Reinventing Project-Based Learning: Your Field Guide to Real-World Projects in the Digital Age.
