You mentioned in a comment that you're teaching a class with new collaborative tools. We've created a tool called DeepDebate which is for logical and structured conversations, where the highest-rated ideas can rise to the top. It's built to keep conversations organized better than wikis and blogs, especially when large numbers of people are involved.

Because we're just starting to open it up to the educational world, we're looking for some teachers that might be interested in trying out new things.

We started our first pilot project with teachers in PA last week and this is what they had to say about it.

You also specifically mentioned combining online and face-to-face conversation. We have been working on a hybrid online/offline model in high schools in PA. This is what we learned, and there's so much more that is possible.

I don't know when the next Google Teacher Academy will be. They may be slowing down the # of academy's due to the economy. The only expense is your travel arrangements/accommodations to the location . They usually rotate between Google offices: CA area, Chicago, New York and Denver. If I hear anything I send you the info.
