I was a classroom teacher for 16 years, most of which was spent teaching physics at my alma mater, Del Norte High School in Albuquerque. I also taught at a small public school in Napa - New Technology High School, where I started practicing full-blown project based learning.
Now I work for the New Tech Network ( http://www.newtechnetwork.org ), as a School Development Coach - which means that I help public school districts create high schools in the image of the original New Tech in Napa. All the schools are small (~400 students), employ wall-to-wall PBL, include 21st Century Skills development, and have a 1:1 student computer ratio. Much of my work centers around helping teachers practice effective PBL.
I'm here because I love thinking and talking about education.
