Hello Jon and welcome to classroom20. I have just finished doing the Powerful Learning Practises and assume it is run by Will Richardson and Cheryl Nussembeach. Is that the same for you?
Hi Jon I found the PLP program good, but as I have been at web2.0 a long time, it was not transformative but for many others who were fairly new, it was. Some were overwhelmed by it and a couple in my group did not finish the project with us. However, I love the work they do and some of the links, discussions etc were great.
I will have a new group of home school students (ages 11 to 17) working on stream studies throughout the US and Canada this spring. Would your students have access to a stream, pond, or lake to do some projects with? The kids could get together via our Elluminate online classroom to compare local fresh water organism populations/variations, water chemical analysis patterns, etc.
You would need access to the internet (projection system would be great) for the live online classroom sharing time.
I also have a K-12 Science Teacher Wave that you might be interested in. If you have Wave let me know and I will bring you in. If you don't have Wave yet and would like an invitation, let me know because I have some nominations left.
