About Me
Hi !
After I got my BA degree in Western Languages and Literatures from Bogazici University, I taught English to grade 4 and 5 students for 3 years at TED Istanbul College. In 2006, I started my MA at the University of Brighton, UK in the field of Media Assisted Language Teaching and Learning. I wrote my dissertation on the Role of teachers’ attitudes and beliefs in their use of digital technologies to develop listening skills of learners in EAP settings.
Upon my completion of MA MALT, I had an opportunity to teach EAL at Irmak Schools, Istanbul, delivering the PYP program for two years.

Currently, I have been teaching the 2nd grade students at Aci Primary School, Istanbul, where a literacy based program designed around the British curriculum is followed.

    Hey, good to hear from you! We are starting school next Tuesday. I checked out your school website. The pictures are great, but I cannot rad a word! :-) Do your students speak english? You are obviously very fluent in english. I have 15 students in my class this year. We have about 550 students in our school. My school is in a very poor neighborhood with a lot of crime, so it can be a challenge. I would love to collaborate with you on many things! It would be interesting to learn about your country's wild life and natural environment. It would also be interesting to learn about education and government in Turkey.     Hey Deniz! Guess what?! I'm looking at running the Lunch Box Project again at the start of next year if there is enough interest from a good variety of schools and countries. Are you interested in being involved again?! Just so you know, that project has had quite a bit of attention lately! :-)
