I've been involved in education for over 10 years now (still a newcomer) and am passionate about the positive impact that technology has for all of our stakeholders. In particular, I'm in interested leveraging the power of Web 2.0 tools to enhance teacher education and professional development.
Our Brainyflix video contest just ended, and I wanted to thank you for helping us get the word out. We got 800 submissions from across the country!
That said, MIT was really happy with the results and will let us run another contest, so we're going for it! But this time, we're gonna have kids create Brainypics flashcards - which are images and sentences paired up with a one of our SAT/ACT words. The contest ends May 22nd, and there'll be iTunes and a cash prize like last time. To boot, we'll double the payout if the kids can hit a certain goal. More details at brainyflix.com/main/contest_rules.
Do you mind passing my message along to students and your HS colleagues again?
You bring up a *hot topic*. We are currently tyring to build a feature so that users can "vote down" Brainypics they don't like and re-caption images. But that just takes some time to work out all the technical issues.
In the meanwhile, what we are trying to do is get users to write correct sentences in the comments. We originally tried to fix the sentences ourselves or email to the author and ask him or her to resubmit, but we got overwhelmed by the volume of new cards.

Any suggestions?
