Thanks for the note on my blog--I'm thinking you may be right about a total reworking of the educational system. Hey, from your studies of leadership, what have you learned about communication patterns that lead to good decision-making? Education seems to be a stronghold for disfunctional meetings. Leadership tends to be rigid, not supporting collaborational problem-solving. Any quick tips for (nonthreatening) changes that might be tried? I'm "just a teacher" but am a rather active change-agent. How can leadership "flow" better...how can meetings go for uninspirational to uplifting? Any strategies or experiments come to mind?

I like your term "homelearning" (instead of homeschooling). I've long been supportive of people who make this alternative work. Our kids have gone to the school where I work--I've had my own children in class, each for two years. That's also an interesting alternative to the typical mainstream picture. What a lot of learning goes on when you see your own kids working at home on the projects you gave in class--makes you see everything from two perspectives.
Thanks for the notes. I hope you learn a lot at CR2.0 and also hope that we all find ways to help education along right now. Heaven knows it needs all the help it can get, from all sorts of "reformers and refiners"--and innovators who know know how to work both within and without the system.

Hi Doug. I was wondering if you have any high school contacts who would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
