I saw your comment on Kim's board and thought I would say hello. I am also working with 8th grade 13-15 year olds I guess with Global Issues and a LA class. I am also looking for some collaboration.
I just had a look to your High School's website and I think everything you do there is amazing. Since I taught in a High School in the States for two years (I'm from Spain) I became interested in international studies. I think it's very important for teenagers to grow up in an environment of cultural diversity and I'm sure a school like yours can do a great job about it.
I'd also like to let you know about our project (Alvaro and me) which I don't know if it can suit you, or the foreign languages teachers of your school.
Our project is called Bablingua. It's about learning a foreign language (Spanish) thought audiovisual resources (recorded in the foreign countries, so the students can learn its culture while learning the language).
We feel now very proud of our website (www.bablingua.com) after more than one year working on it. It includes short videos, long videos, vocabulary cards and a blog with free activities, games and new ideas for foreign language teachers.
Please, visit us at : www.bablingua.com... We hope you like it!
Hi Tisha. I was wondering if you and your students would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. If not, perhaps you have some educator contacts you could direct me to. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
