I earned my Ph.D. in Education, specializing in Curriculum and Instructional Technology. My dissertation research examined the relationship between faculty members espoused beliefs and classroom practices using technology. I am very interested in pursuing this area of research, as well as continuing research in the area of technology in teacher education.
I am the Professional Development Specialist (technology trainer) for faculty and staff at Austin Community College in Austin.
I teach at Kent State the edTECH course for people who want to be teachers. Your research sounds like what I do. My work is in assessment primarily, but I do a great deal of research in online instruction and faculty development. We should compare notes. BTW, I got my MA from UT--lived in Austin great city---
Enjoyed reading your "About Me" section. Good luck with your dissertation. WE are an education service center in SEK (Southeast Kansas) and meet with many challenges with technology in the schools we serve. Often times, it's educating the instructors into what to do with it, while the kids already know. I think (my theory) that it's intimidating for the teachers to know so little and be surpassed by the students. I'd really like to learn more about what you're finding in your research and use better practices with the challenges that surround our teachers in these smaller towns.
