Summer is good. Lots of planning for a couple of big projects starting in late August. As soon as I get a decent pic I'll post it. I'm looking forward to learning more about this classroom 2.0. Thanks for the invitation to join!
Thanks, Robert. We have definitely been asked if we can expand this for other grade levels, and that is a possibility we might explore after the SAT competition is done. Per your other idea, we don't quite have that sort of precision in directing our participants. :] We have enough trouble getting kids to make sure their videos follow our instructions! But it is a clever idea and something we will archive. Anyways, have a fun Super Bowl or non-Super Bowl weekend :]
Our Brainyflix video contest just ended, and I wanted to thank you for helping us get the word out. We got 800 submissions from across the country!
That said, MIT was really happy with the results and will let us run another contest, so we're going for it! But this time, we're gonna have kids create Brainypics flashcards - which are images and sentences paired up with a one of our SAT/ACT words. The contest ends May 22nd, and there'll be iTunes and a cash prize like last time. To boot, we'll double the payout if the kids can hit a certain goal. More details at brainyflix.com/main/contest_rules.
Do you mind passing my message along to students and your HS colleagues again?
