Hi Brian - yup, I'm in Manchester UK. Not many northern Brits in here I think! Your services look interesting - are they well received by schools? I think many schools still have a long way to go in realising the potential of new technologies (including web 2.0) for music.
Hi Brian- I teach elementary music in Seattle WA and use garageband in the classroom with macbooks. I'm looking to collaborate with other educators who use music and technology. I'm just making my way around the classroom 2.0 site and hope to make some more connections. Ken in Seattle
Brian- I'm trying to create some lessons with my 4th & 5th grade kids...right now the interest is high- they love the loops of course- I've been doing some simple lessons about form- ABA, Rondo, etc. Garageband is great for this, especially the visual part where you can see and hear the data. My biggest obstacle (today anyway) is getting kids to create projects within a specified form. I usually restrict them to one set of loops within a particular form. This works well from a compositional stand point. I hope to share out their work with other kids using gband.
