Comment by Daniel Bassill on July 1, 2007 at 7:07am: Alice, if programs are close enough to where kids live, and offer a safe enviornment, many kids will participate.

I offer programs in high poverty areas where many kids have too little adult or parent involvement, thus these programs are welcome by youth, parents and guardians.

As to access, much of my work focuses on volunteers and adults who do not live in poverty. Until these people are engaged, as resource providers, leaders, and organizers, there will be too few resources available to have many tech based programs in high poverty areas. Thus, if we increase what non poverty people do, we can increase tech access and opportunity for people in high poverty areas.
