I am a learner, first and foremost and today, I pushed beyond my shaking left hand for complete a guitar recital for a group of great friends with the help and support of my teacher for the past five years and my lifelong partner. We served great food, enjoyed a perfect day and to think last week we were in the midst of a flood and I did my thing and then a celebration!
I have been working for this moment for the last two months. I can't say it was an A+ but that's the conditioned side of my after years in the classroom passing them out. I would say that I am satisfied. No matter what, I would probably never give myself an A+, not even an A, but I was satisfied and my playing has been kicked up many notches and I can't wait to get back to pieces I had to leave behind in preparing my best 5.
This is what I do best, take up learning challenges. I think my thirst for learning is what informed my teaching. The only way I could be credible as a teacher of writing was to be writing and sharing myself. Life in classroom changed as I turned 40 and added writer to my list.
At 50, I watched a guitarist make love to his guitar and I knew I had to experience that passion. Today it was all about me and my guitar. In my last years in the classroom I shared my guitar with my students. I wasn't great, but I felt they needed to see me learning, struggling as they struggled at the early stages of the process.
Every summer I continue to share where I am in my adventure with the guitar during our summer institute. My left hand shakes and I try and move through it. I will continue to break through. It's a challenge but it keeps me human and growing.
Technology offers all of us the same challenges,no?
How will this blog be unique?tag:www.classroom20.com,2007-04-09:649749:BlogPost:37602007-04-09T18:31:46.000ZBonnie Kaplanhttps://www.classroom20.com/profile/blkdrama
I have more blogs than I know what to do with. I like the look of this site and the opportunity to share with an educational group. After a full year of writing on a blog and an online writing journal and a tech team blog, without too many comments to respond to, it was more about writing asa personal habit and that's great! And I do have a collaborative blog that I know is read and shared....love that one.

I have invited lots of members to be friends. I have 31 already.…
