Learning something new.

While at NECC and EduBlogger Con, I must say that I was completely overwhelmed by what is going out there in the ed tech space. There are so many leaders in our schools and classrooms who are doing amazing things. Web 2.0 tools are simply tools, but what I learned and observed by the many folks at EduBlogger was something that seemed to be revolutionary. We are truly seeing examples of our classrooms and teaching practices change as a result of teachers embracing new instructional strategies,… Continue

Hi every one

Wow what a great site this is I'm really encouraged to see it so active and vibrant. I am building a site similar for teachers called www.uskoob.com still in its infancy but it great to see what it might become with active members....I think that social networks are great in sharing ideas techniques and resources.

Not easy to do

I have been trying multiple avenues to connect with people from around the world. I have not been successful yet. I am new to this though. What I would like to do is have conversations with people from around the globe and I would like my students to do this as well. As I began to travel outside of Pittsburgh, I found young people from around the globe who are travelling, working, and experiencing the world. I would have never done this as a young adult and I wish that I would have. The… Continue

Editing Content

Since re-establishing my classroom website I've discovered what a pain it is to transfer (css) files. I began to just copy html code from one file to another but... Unfortunately, the old style sheets are coming with the copy and its to cumbersome to avoid. So, I'll be starting all html code fresh. Maybe I'll even dabble in a little xhtml?

Any suggestions out there on rebuilding a website?

More imaging frustrations and success

No luck the tablets still wouldn't boot just that stupid blinking underscore. I tried booting the XP CD with the same results -- blue screen of death about hardware error. Went home frustrated at 8pm having spent 11 hours in the building.

Next day started googling ZenWorks Imaging and other associated phrases. Got on Lenovo forumn, they made mention of using the -IB switch on ghost if the imaged computers don't boot. Did more research trying to find out what the equivalent of the -IB… Continue

The Duck and the Devil

There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm.

He was given a slingshot to play with out in the woods.

He Practiced in the woods, but he could never hit the target.

Getting A little discouraged, he headed back for dinner. As he was Walking back he saw Grandma's pet duck.

Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot fly, hit the duck Square in the head, and killed it. He was shocked and grieved.

In a panic, he hid the dead duck… Continue

Can't Believe My Babe has a Belt-Sander! A Heartfelt Message for my Daughter

Yeah, well, this post isn't exactly "Classroom 2.0" material, but it's what's on my heart this evening. Yep, that's my "baby" with the belt sander! She's been a busy girl this week getting projects ready to take to the local 4H Youth Fair. That's a pallet table she's working on in the picture. She took an old pallet and made a really cute painted table out of it. She's hoping we can FIT the thing through the door, around the corner, up the stairs, around… Continue

Tech Documentation Blog

Blogging is something that up till now never really caught my interest. I really don't read other people's blogs, so I guess I never thought of writting one. However, as I'm sitting here in the tech office at my school at 7pm on a Friday night after struggling with creating a ZenWorks image of the student tablet that actually works, it occurs to me that it would be good to document some of these experiences in case I find myself in the same postition.

ZenWorks imaging has never… Continue
