Over spring break, I learned how to create a Google website. It was fairly easy. I wanted a place to leave resources for teachers that are learning how to use technology in their classrooms. I will add more resources to this site as I have time.Here is the link: http://sites.google.com/site/uteachwithtechnology/home

My highest priority in life? To have a lasting impact on educational opportunities for students everywhere. Lofty, sure. But it's a realistic goal this day and age. Unfortunately, educational technology today often hides content behind registrations, passwords and other digital "walls" that prevent students and other teachers from engaging the content and benefiting from the good work of a great teacher.

Technological literacy, a broad understanding of the human-designed world and our place in it, is an essential quality for all people who live in the increasingly technology-driven 21st century. How do you know if your computer has been breached, hacked, cracked or otherwise compromised? If it won’t boot up or vomits up the Blue Screen of Death, it’s pretty obvious, but what if your intruder is more devious. Doesn’t want you to know he’s been there, so leaves none of the obvious signs?
Here are some clues:
* Applications…

There are few programs that say 'competence' more than Adobe Photoshop. If a student can accomplish this photo editor, he becomes the go-to guy for technology. He develops a confidence that carries over into so many other skills s/he'll want to use with computers. On my blog,
Ask a Tech Teacher, I've itemized some of the favorites among my students, the easiest for a fifth grader to use when they're putting themselves into that…

A number of educators are starting to use video technology to capture everything from class drama projects, to school activities and outings, or to make available supplementary notes or how-to instructions for assignments and projects. These video-taped items are typically made available to students via classroom computer(s) or the library's computers, however, many teachers are now taking advantage of…
