Hi Lynne,
I wanted to know if you'd be available to do a Hawaii Classroom 2.0 workshop @ Iolani School, Saturday 13 June from about 8h00-17h00. Erin & I have been doing weekly Wed workshops and we have interested teachers who are willing to give up a Saturday after school is out. We are requesting funds for lunch and coffee breaks but otherwise have only goodwill for your time. If you can't, can you suggest someone. Thanks to advise asap.

Hey Lynne,

Our Brainyflix video contest just ended, and I wanted to thank you for helping us get the word out. We got 800 submissions from across the country!

That said, MIT was really happy with the results and will let us run another contest, so we're going for it! But this time, we're gonna have kids create Brainypics flashcards - which are images and sentences paired up with a one of our SAT/ACT words. The contest ends May 22nd, and there'll be iTunes and a cash prize like last time. To boot, we'll double the payout if the kids can hit a certain goal. Thanks for the note. We use survey monkey at our school as well. We are looking at Atomic Learning and a couple others for the self-assessment and trainings pieces. We're hoping that will help with the issue of finding time to get everyone together, as they can work at their own pace from home.

Hi. I just read an old post of yours about a PD pilot. You mentioned "2 surveys that assess their skill and integration levels and mapping out a plan to give them PD in the areas they feel they need/want help." I was wondering if you created the surveys on your own or used one you found online? How is it going so far? Thank you!

About the idea of collaborating over a literacy course in a School of Education ...
I'm about to go for a week's holiday to the coast. I won't have access to internet (except when I go into town). But what I'm planning to do is to write a short invitation to people help me think through what the course might focus on. I'm thinking that when I get back on Jan 13th, I'd post this as a blog here on Classroom 2.0, just as you did with your '21st C literacies ...'

Found a cool free website right before the Christmas break. It's blockposters.com. It allows you to take a digital image (no bigger than 1 MB) and blow it up to any size you wish using mutiple sheets of standard letter sized paper. Try it!

I'm sending out messages to everyone I know right now, and this classroom20 network is no exception. (I've also sent this out on other Ning networks you may be a part of.) My name is Alyshia Olsen; I am a 20 year old college student from Olin College of Engineering. I am a part of a group of 6 Olin College students (we're in Needham, MA, and engineering students) who has taken a year off to work on an education related project. Since you are in the 'connecting content and technology' group, I thought you might be interested! Our project is called AlightLearning, and this is our "short" project description:

Under the assumption that within ten years, the landscape of modern education will have fully integrated what we now define as new classroom media: video, online collaboration, open source curriculum and other web tools, we hope to pioneer a web software tool that acts as a platform for this new media, bringing the power of the web and its tools to students, teachers and parents in a secure, comfortable and innovative environment. Our goal is to have our free software at a pilot middle school by April 15th, 2009, continuing to develop and coordinate with our users to create a product that other schools want to pilot and use at their schools, while allowing individual teachers to implement this tool in their own classroom.

Our project, titled Alight Learning, is currently trying to win an idea competition on Ideablob.com You can find us at http://ideablob.com/3975 . We would love your support in the form of a vote within the next couple days, but more importantly we'd love your feedback and comments. Our description on Ideablob is short, and even the one above hardly gets at many of the issues we would like to take a stab at solving, but at least it's a start.

Thanks for commenting on our blog, The Upper House, a while back! You got my 4th and 5th graders interested in learning Hawaiian! The fifth graders are learning about landforms in science class and they find Hawaii very interesting!

As a technology integration specialist I recommend you take a look at www.Wiziq.com virtual classroom and www.authorstream.com web based power point presentation platform. Both are web based, are excellent for content sharing; wiziq is an excellent virtual classroom that is great for online learning or collaboration for students and teachers.

By the way I graduated from Saint Louis High School and now work at Rancho Cucamonga high School, in Rancho Cucamonga, California.

I continue to be amazed by how much I learn from Twitter and Classroom 2.0. Right now these two resources along with my coworkers are the biggest impact in my PLN. The connections/contacts expand exponentially. It's great. The only problem is just like classroom teachers, there aren't enough hours in the day to do everything.
