Hi Christina,
I taught for 10 years in Ecuador and currently make my home in Calgary, Alberta. I too have a special interest in education in the developing world. I am currently teaching grade 2 in the Spanish bilingual program in Calgary, Alberta.

Christina,
Hello from snowy Minnesota, USA! I also have an interest in education in developing countries having spent time in the Philippines helping to develop a school for orphaned and abandoned children. My work here involves urban children with many needs as well--not a whole lot different!
Hi Christine, Thanks for the Invite ~ I am still trying to learn my way around this concept, But I love the idea of making connections around the world!
Hi Christine, thanks for inviting me as a friend. I live in Australia and I was really excited to see that you live in Zurich. What a small world we live in. My sister lives in Zurich as she married a Swiss guy about 10 years ago. She has two little boys. we don't get to see her very often unfortunately but we do email regularly.
How do you see this read/write web impacting third world education? I have an interest in this area too, having done some work on the issues of infrastructure and education in Africa (and having a niece with a mission to provide books and libraries amongst bookless schools - of which there are large numbers.) The XOs project (which is mentioned in this community somewhere) is exciting, but I wonder if electricity and telecommunications are in place widely enough to provide any impact outside major cities.
