Thanks Anne. I will look him up! Any other ideas you have would be wonderful. I will be there for two weeks in March. It looks like you are doing some great work yourself with student blogging, word clouds etc. I need to spend more time on your page! ~ Hilary

Teaching online is quite a challenge but I thoroughly enjoy it. Do you use an LMS so deliver your courses? We use eCollege, I also use wiki's and google sites to provide some collaboration. For videoconferencing we have elluminate, the students enjoy being able to meet once a week as we never see each other face to face.

I am excited to be here, there are so many people with different experiences to learn from. Thanks!!

I'll bet we are communicating with a three D box by then. It is amazing the way technology has taken us. She has never known a place without a cell phone, television set, Movies at home, computers. It is wonderful the way we keep progressing.

Hello Nina. In Australia we call them Learning Management Systems - interesting how each country has its own acronyms. My classes do not actually use the netbooks as it is the grade4/5 class which I do not take this year. However students from years 4 to 9 will be part of the netbook program next year. so I will have to face that issue next year. I dont know whether the students only use them for short spurts of time rather than extended but I shall have to ask Frank their teacher. Do you give your students a break after 50 mins or what are your standards?

Hi Anne, thanks for your comment. VLE stands for Virtual Learning Environment; Blackboard, Moodle etc. We currently use Fronter. Nice work with the Netbooks, that sounds a fab project - how have you got round the health and safety implications? Do you limit the time students use the devices?
