So your institution lets you chose the platform or is this your private server space?

Nick, do you actually get a choice as to what platform you use for delivery of courses (Moodle, Wordpress, etc.)?

HI Nick -- there's a great online event this weekend called Educon 2.2 and I think I recall some math workshops there. Here's my link to that conference (from another website (this one started in BC) called CEET: PS -- welcome to Canadians Mashup.

The good thing about Microsoft Office Live is that it is compatible with Microsoft Office software and file formats. This is good if students need to conform to the Microsoft standard. All you need is to create a gmail e-mail address and you can log into both Office Live and Windows live. In Windows Live look for the free online storage. It's called SkyDrive and students like using it instead of carrying memory sticks with them. At least they can't lose their SkyDrive....

Thanks a lot for your answer.Personally, I haven't used Office Live (nor did I know it could be used as an online tool, to be honest), but am quite fond of Google Docs...especially Spreadsheets.

Hi Nick --

It's great to find more Canucks in here in CR 2.0. You might want to join a group called "Canadians Mashup". If you join, please use the Welcome forum at to introduce yourself, and then add me as a Colleague.
