The premise of this video is constructed around the idea that the more children can experience what they are learning and the more teachers immerse students in the learning process the more engaged students will become in interacting, listening, viewing and valuing their education.
Teacher designed student networking applications enhances the capabilities to distribute content, and where student users generate additional content with freedom to share and re-use. The result is a rise in the educational value of the Web as students can expand learning beyond the contextual framework of the classroom. This website is designed to explore new dimensions of teaching and learning through the construction of student networking and the exploration of brain development.

In this project I will demonstrate how the developments of technology based lessons have the potential of immersing students in content. Additionally I will construct a wiki that will become an integration to content development and an extension to a technology-based lesson.

The student response system allows for student participation in classroom questioning that engages students to become more actively involved in classroom assessments. Classroom assessment data can be used to provide relevant in-class feedback, and to adjust instruction according to identified needs especially when benchmark assessments are relevant to statewide testing. Assessment information can be sent to teachers, then to the district office to project needs of individual students and classroom groups as a whole, giving teachers information for data driven decision making.

Oklahoma Digital Centennial Project

The ODCP project will enable schools across the great State of Oklahoma to develop digital stories using a digital story guide for submitting individual or classroom projects about Oklahoma history that is unique to their county. The project will also explore and test a wide range of technology that is available for teaching and integrating technology in the classroom. Additionally the ODCP will train over forty teachers a year who will learn the necessary skills of integrating technology into the classroom, facilitate regional events and hold video-conferencing seminars with other schools within the state of Oklahoma.

Three Days of Discovery

During Three Days of Discovery participants explored the elements of digital storytelling through a review of audacity and an introduction to photostory3. Photostory3 is a free Microsoft production tool that can be used to organize digital photos along an event’s timeline by adding special effects. The special effects editing features in photostory3 allows digital creators the ability to add transitions, motion, sound, and titles, to a production.

The participants also learned the relationship between Audacity and photostory3 and how these two tools can be used to create a digital story. The elements of instructional design through storyboard development and different styles of digital storytelling can be applied by integrating both audacity and photostory3 as part of the curriculum.
