Yes, I will be there with 5 other staff members from our school Yew Chung International School of Beijing. We also have a school in Shanghai but I don't know if anyone is attending the conference. There will be 3 western teachers and 3 of our Chinese teachers.

Our school is unique in its focus of bringing the best of the west and blending it with the best of the east. I share my classroom with a Chinese teacher who co teaches with me on a 70/30 basis plus teaches my kids an hour of mandatory Chinese language a day and a weekly Chinese Culture lesson.

I am so glad you are going to be at the conference. I have only been on this Web 2.0 journey for 11 months but I am totally engrossed in it and want to learn as much as possible. My mind spins. :)

Julie,

Are you presenting at the Shanghai Learning 2.008 conference in September?

Hello Julie!

I've become a new member not too long ago and am very excited about this site. Needless to say as a new member I know no one. May I kindly invite you as a guest to my site (http://ntoond2.ning.com/). Any suggestions or comments you may have on how best to navigate the 2.0 world would be most appreicated.

Also, would you care to share any sayings which are particular to your country on my site? For example, in the US one can say "Waste not, want not" or "Birds of a feather flock together", "A stitch in time saves nine"... and so on.

I'd be most grateful.
Thanks and hope to hear from you.

Aaron

I really enjoy your blog. I loved that little budget laptop! I saw one like that at a Utah conference recently. The video on handhelds sure had some jazzy music!

Hi Julie. A while back I asked about a friend I thought you may have taught with in Dhaka. You know what a small world it is in the International Schools circuit. Well, he recently took a position at Qatar Academy and you will be meeting him after all, and his wife Rebecca (science teacher, tech specialist) and their two sons.

He is a tall Texan, by the name of TA (Tommie) Hennard. Chemistry is his field. TA is quite tech-savvy and you and he will have lots to talk about. I hope you enjoy getting to know him as much as I have.

Julie, my mistake. I assumed there was only one international school in Dhaka. I taught in Norway for two years at the International School of Stavanger (1998-200.) I often think about going back overseas. It was a great experience.

Tom, we have been in Dhaka since 2003, this is our 4th year. However your friend may have taught at the American school (AISD) as his name is not familiar. We are the other one.

Julie, my good friend TA Hennard taught chemistry at ISD from 2002-2004. Were you there then?
