Event Description

PBS Teachers and Classroom 2.0 are delighted to have professional development experts and educational consultants from the Emmy award-winning math mystery series CYBERCHASE as our guests for "Using 21st Century Resources to Enhance Math Teaching & Learning," the next webinar in the PBS Teachers LIVE! series. Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, April 7 at 8 p.m. ET for this upcoming free webinar.
Preparing young elementary learners with high-quality math and science education is critical. Many educators are meeting this challenge by bringing CYBERCHASE into their classrooms.

In this webinar, a member of the CYBERCHASE outreach team, two educators (an elementary teacher and a professor of pre-service teachers), and the director of Thirteen's VITAL (Video in Teaching and Learning) project will share innovative and effective ways to approach elementary math and science instruction using media and technology. Webinar participants will get an exclusive opportunity to preview CYBERCHASE's new seventh-season initiative, Weather Watchers, which features five math and weather-themed episodes, a new interactive Web game at CYBERCHASE Online, and hands-on activities for elementary learners. Participants will also learn how to access over 125 different CYBERCHASE video segments and accompanying lesson plans using the VITAL/Teachers' Domain service.

About CYBERCHASE:
CYBERCHASE – the only math series for children on American TV – airs daily on PBS KIDS across the country. Since its premiere in 2002, the Emmy award-winning math mystery cartoon has used humor, action and adventure to get kids excited - and confident - about math and problem solving skills. Produced by THIRTEEN/WNET New York, CYBERCHASE appears on more than 500 PBS stations and digital channels across the U.S. and reaches 4 million viewers weekly. CYBERCHASE Online (pbskids.org/cyberchase) enhances the TV experience with award-winning content and multi-level math games for kids, as well as activities, lessons, and resources for parents and teachers.
CYBERCHASE's seventh season premieres in late April on PBS KIDS (check your local listings).
