Hi, everybody. I'm Lino Oliveira from Matosinhos, Portugal.
I am a teacher at Oporto Polytechnic Institute.
I teach ICT in the Libray and Information Sciences and Technologies Course at ESEIG - Escola Superior de Estudos Industriais e de Gestão (School of Industrial Studies and Management) in Vila do Conde, 25 Km north of Oporto, the second largest city of Portugal.
Presently, I am doing a PhD in Computer Science. I am investigating new forms of teaching and learning using web 2.0 tools.
I am using the web since 1995 to supporting my teaching activities. Since the beginning of this academic year, we are using the Moodle platform.
This platform is very good to support classes in a b-learning environment. But I am interested in new tools to stimulate the students to do better work.
So, this network is a MUST.
Hi everyone! I am a graduate student in library science, and I will graduate May '08. My focus is information literacy; right now I teach one day a week at a private school. Hopefully, I will land the big job at a boarding or day school as a teacher-librarian.
Hi everyone! I'm an art and technology teacher, and am particularly interested in where those two fields meet in education. Currently, I'm living and working in Shanghai.
Hello All, my name is Dai (it's Welsh, but I am not). I have taught ICT to 11 - 18 year olds for more years than I care to count. I live in London with my partner and three children (two of them step-children). I love computers because of what they enable me to do. I'm looking to build many projects across my school curriculum using computers to increase the students enjoyment and maybe improve on a few learning outcomes whilst we're at it.
Hello Everyone,
My name is Elise Mueller and I teach 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade language arts in Bellingham, Washington. Like many of you I wandered across Classroom 2.0 and I am so glad I did. I started using blogs and wikis in my classroom last year but am still very much a beginner as far as Web 2.0 tools go. I am excited to be a part of this learning community!
Hello to the community! I am an educational technology specialist at ESSDACK and am a former art instructor grades 1-12 for 13 years. I spend my time now helping teachers integrate technology and web tools in the classroom. I travel the country doing online safety presentations for kids, teachers and parents and this is quickly becoming a major consumer of my time. My online safety site is here and my main website is here. My secondlife name is Kevinski66 Allen. I welcome new friends and people on similar trajectories.
Hello all. Matt Clausen from Missoula, MT, USA signing on. I teach English, yearbook, and technology classes at a small alternative program. Ning has been cropping up in a number of discussions, and when I heard about the Classroom 2.0 group, it was time to check things out for myself.
Hola Profesores! I am a 2nd year teacher in Orlando, Florida. I am originally from MI but I actually enjoy being employed, so I relocated. :) I teach 3rd grade to mostly ESL students and I am looking for ways to use technology as a visual and audio guide, for limited-english speakers. I have a site on edublogs that I use to communicate with parents, as well as upload student podcasts. Students have to prepare booktalks in order to improve fluency, then I record them as podcasts so they can see where they are making grammatical and pronunciation errors. The parents also love being able to hear their child speak "Academic English." Feel free to check out what we have done!! www.otownteacher.edublogs.org
I look forward to getting to know you all!!
Hi, my name is Miguel Guhlin and I serve a large urban school district as the Director of Instructional Technology. As an ed-tech administrator, I often feel like the fox put in charge of the hen-house...aware of the bounty, excited about the immediate future, but not exactly sure where to take the first bite (smile).
